Vail Daily staff report

BEAVER CREEK — The Beaver Creek Resort Co. has announced the appointment of Jennifer Brown as the new director. Brown will assume responsibilities for the resort company’s marketing functions, central reservations, transportation, resort services and overall community quality measures. Brown will begin her new position March 18.

“We are very excited to have someone with Jen’s communications, marketing and community background lead the resort company,” said Doug Lovell, chairman of the Resort Co.’s board of directors. “Equally important, Jen has tremendous knowledge of and passion for the Beaver Creek brand and will work collaboratively with the homeowners, merchants and guests of the resort to elevate our unique community.”

Brown joins the Resort Co. from Vail Resorts, where she was senior communications manager for Beaver Creek Resort. As a member of the senior management team, Brown focused on business strategy, winter and summer, including golf, and served as spokesperson, leading all media and resort inquiries. Prior to coming to Beaver Creek in 2008, she held the same position at Vail Mountain for six years. Between 1998 and 2001, Brown was the executive director of the Vail Valley Chamber of Commerce, serving the local business community.

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism-advertising from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Brown was an All-American on the university’s ski team. Prior to that she was a member of the U.S. Ski Team and later competed on the World Pro Ski Tour from 1994-1997. In addition to skiing, Brown enjoys road, mountain and dirt biking as well as other outdoor sports. She and her husband, Mike, and their daughter live in Eagle-Vail.
