Check your mail: Summit County mailed property valuations this week

Though all taxable real property is only revalued in odd-numbered years, Summit County must provide community members with property valuation notices each year. Those notices were mailed out on Monday, May 2, according to a county release.

State law requires that all county assessors notify property owners of their value every year. This might differ due to the creation of a new lot or subdivision, new construction, an addition or remodel, other physical changes or correction to incorrect data. For most property owners, their 2022 valuation will not differ from their 2021 valuation.

The release said that community members are encouraged to review their property’s record for accuracy on the Summit County Government website at SummitCountyCo.gov/86/Assessor. Those who wish to appeal their valuation may do so throughout the month of May by either in-person appointment, online or through mail.
