Instead of starting the season on Friday, Copper Mountain announced it would bump opening day forward to Wednesday, Nov. 11. With more than 14 inches of fresh snow, coupled with snowmaking, the American Eagle chairlift will start turning at 9 a.m.

Skiers and riders will have access to intermediate trails Rhapsody and Main Vein. On Saturday, Copper plans to open the Easy Rider beginner learning area and Eagle Jib Park.

In honor of Veterans Day, free skiing and riding will be offered for all active or retired military and their dependents on Wednesday. Military and dependents must show a valid ID at the ticket window at the time of purchase. The first 400 visitors in line will get free hot chocolate and donuts.

Lift tickets, season passes and rentals may be purchased at Copper Sports, located in the Copper One building, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Wednesday. For the remainder of the winter season, it will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Saturday.

Walk-up lift tickets are $138 for adults, $104 for a half-day and $69 for children and seniors. Season passes are available for purchase at CopperColorado.com.
