County to hold youth substance use educational event on April 25

Summit Daily staff report

Let’s talk about youth substance use.

Summit County Public Health and the Summit County Drug Take-Back Task Force are inviting parents, educators and community members to a free educational event on youth substance abuse next week.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m., on April 25, at the Summit Middle School auditorium in Frisco. The event will feature a presentation by Lynn Riemer, founder of ACT on Drugs, who will discuss the affects of substance abuse on communities and how to protect your students, family and yourself.

In addition, the presentation will serve as a drug take-back event. Guests can bring any expired or unused medications from their home for safe, anonymous disposal.

Appetizers will be included, and Spanish translation will be available.
