Dillon Marina manager Bob Evans elected to Association of Marine Industries board
On Jan. 8, Bob Evans, who holds the title of certified marina manager at the Dillon Marina, was elected to the board of directors of the Association of Marine Industries.
Evans’ term is for three years.
“It will be an honor to serve on this board and give back to the marina industry, as it has given so much enjoyment to me, in my 30-plus years in the industry,” Evans said in a town of Dillon news release.
Following the announcement, Dillon Mayor Ron Holland voiced his appreciation for Evans and the entire marina staff.
“The marina has been operating at such a high level for years and that starts at the top,” Holland said in the release.
“We are extremely fortunate to have people such as Bob who are committed to the highest level of service.
“His appointment to the board only reaffirms his dedication not only to the town of Dillon but also to the entire marina industry.”
Evans has been with the town of Dillon since 1996 in the role of marina manager.
“The Dillon Marina has become our focal point and is a key component to our continued development,” Holland said in the release. “It’s truly what sets us apart within our community.”
The Association of Marina Industries is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of the marina industry.
Today, the association is responsible for the International Marina Institute, including the internationally acclaimed certified marina manager program.
In addition to small topic-specific conferences to better the marina industry, the association organizes the annual International Marina & Boatyard Conference, the release sid.
With more than 800 members, the association offers access to discounted services, timely industry publications and legislative support and updates to ensure all marina managers are up-to-date on changes in the industry.
