The town of Frisco is celebrating the 2019 Month of Photography Colorado with a new exhibition titled “Playing with Perceptions” during the month of March.

The exhibition kicks off with an opening reception on March 6 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the 1st and Main Building. The show features abstract landscape images from local artists Kia Neill and Todd Powell, who also will participate an artist talk scheduled for March 23.

Gallery hours for the temporary displays are on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. There is also the possibility of “pop up” artist demonstrations, which could happen spontaneously throughout the month.

“For me, abstraction is a process of observation and transformation through the compositions that I present to the viewer,” said Powell. “This personal collection of photos has something to share with us about the act of seeing and the understanding of what is seen. As a local Frisco artist, I’m really honored to be part of this pilot exhibition in the 1st and Main Building, and I’m curious how this experiment will be received.”
