GoBreck.com recognized as outstanding website after April relaunch
Developed in a partnership with the New York-based Bellweather agency, the Breckenridge Tourism Office’s website, GoBreck.com, has been named an Outstanding Travel Website by the 2018 Web Awards. Every year the WebAwards recognize outstanding web design and are juried by industry leaders and experts, according to the BTO.
“We set out to showcase what is so compelling about Breckenridge — why people come to visit, why they come back and what’s so irresistible that some call it home — with an industry-leading partner in Bellweather, our storytelling came alive and provided an amazing virtual experience for our potential guests,” said Lucy Kay, the BTO’s president and CEO.
With the award, GoBreck.com is in good company, being honored alongside Destination British Columbia, Hilton Head Island, the state of New Jersey and three others.
Launched in early April, the redesigned website was built to be mobile-first with SVG animations that offer a movie-like feel for video on the site and attract viewers to Breckenridge’s landscape and imagery. Additionally, the site includes accelerated mobile pages that improve the overall experience for mobile users, according to the BTO.
“Instead of using predominantly horizontal images — that are always cropped or sized small on mobile devices — we used custom vertical video and imagery to truly highlight the best of Breckenridge,” said Brett Howard, the BTO’s director of marketing and project leader.
