HC3 to host Recycling at the Rio Happy Hour

The High Country Conservation Center (HC3) will host “Recycling at the Rio,” an informal happy hour and discussion on Thursday, Oct. 11 to address community recycling questions and the recycling portion of ballot measure 1A. The event takes place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant at 182 Lusher Court in Frisco. The free event includes appetizers, prizes and drink specials; all members of the public are invited to attend.

HC3 fields more than 1,000 calls annually through its recycling hotline, operates an online recycling tool and answers questions on social media. Recycling at the Rio allows residents to get their questions answered in-person and understand the biggest challenges local recycling programs face.

“Recycling in Summit County is perceived as hard,” said HC3 executive director Jennifer Schenk. “We’re trying to make it easy for people to get the information they need, whether it’s online, over the phone or in person.”
