Kaiser group partners with Colorado Mountain Medical
EDWARDS — As Kaiser Permanente prepares to expand health-care services to Colorado mountain communities, the health plan this week announced a new agreement with one of the largest medical groups in Eagle County.
Colorado Mountain Medical will offer primary and specialty care services to Kaiser Permanente members in the mountain service area starting in January. Colorado Mountain Medical’s network of 26 physicians, three physician assistants and one nurse practitioner offers a wide range of services for families, including internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics and OB-GYN. Colorado Mountain Medical will also offer Kaiser Permanente members various specialty care options including nephrology, cardiology, urology, otolaryngology and gastroenterology starting in January.
“We’re excited to work alongside our colleagues at Colorado Mountain Medical to provide care for our Kaiser Permanente members in these mountain communities. CMM shares Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to promoting health and wellness,” said Mark Carvalho, MD, vice president of external relations and mountain expansion, Colorado Permanente Medical Group. “CMM’s primary and specialty care physicians work closely together to care for patients with more complex medical conditions and I know we’ll learn a lot together in the coming years.”
Colorado Mountain Medical has served residents in the Vail Valley for more than 35 years. They have four locations in Vail, Edwards, Eagle and Basalt.
HEALTH CARE OPTIONS
Kaiser Permanente offers both heath care and coverage to its members. Individuals and families who choose Kaiser Permanente will have access to many health-care options in the Colorado mountain communities. Members will be able to visit one of the new Kaiser Permanente medical offices, in Frisco and Edwards, or they can choose to see a physician in Kaiser’s network of preferred providers, including Colorado Mountain Medical.
Kaiser Permanente members also have access to many convenient online tools, including the ability to refill prescriptions online and view lab results. Members will be able to schedule “video visits” with a provider from home through a secure web-based program.
The Kaiser Permanente Edwards medical offices in Eagle County — located at 56 Edwards Village Blvd. — are set to open on Jan. 4. Also opening the same day is Kaiser Permanente’s new offices in Frisco — located in the Basecamp retail center at 226 Lusher Court, just off Interstate 70 and Route 9.
Kaiser Permanente will initially offer commercial coverage plans to employers and individual and family plans and Medicaid in Summit and Eagle counties. Additional plans and options will be added in 2017 and beyond.
