Keystone Resort is serving up a white Christmas this year for families and friends looking for a winter escape.

Keystone has received more than 5 feet of natural snow so far, according to a Keystone Resort news release, and is offering skiers and riders more than 1,600 acres of skiable terrain for the holiday season.

Snow enthusiasts can also enjoy a variety of on- and off-mountain activities, including mountaintop snowcat tours, ice skating, snow tubing and the fourth year of Keystone’s popular Kidtopia family programming, complete with a mountaintop snow fort.

Limited holiday lodging is still available at up to 50 percent off this holiday season, and kids 12 and under ski for free with any two or more nights’ stay in one of Keystone’s many accommodation options.

Keystone will kick off the fourth year of Kidtopia activities on Saturday, Dec. 21, with the first installment of the weekly Riperoo Parade, featuring a professional float, the unveiling of this year’s mountaintop snow fort and the launch of daily activities, including ice skating parties, meet-and-greets with the mountain’s adorable avalanche dogs and specialty programming including Cupcakes and Canvases — art classes complete with delicious cupcakes.

For those looking to enjoy kids’ programming indoors, Keystone introduces the new Kidtopia Headquarters, an indoor space filled with fun activities, including a new Ready, Paint, Fire pottery shop.

Other holiday festivities include the resort’s famed 8,000-pound chocolate village display, an ice skating showcase, Kidtopia fireworks show, carolers and a concert with Keller Williams and his Compadres. Santa Claus will make a quick pit stop for a special holiday breakfast Dec. 24, before he sets off on his busy night of gift delivery.

For families looking to gather around the holiday table together, Keystone’s convenient inventory of condominium-style lodging provides all the comforts of home, including full kitchens in most units. Or, have someone else do the cooking and visit one of Keystone’s dining outlets; special holiday menus will be available at many of the resort’s signature dining locations.
