Register now for the SANE 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 3

Join the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) team in the 6th Annual SANE 5K Fun Walk/Run on Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Walk or run with the SANE nurses on a course from St. Anthony Summit Medical Center along the paved recreation pathway to Frisco and then back to the hospital to show your support. Women’s self-defense classes

Advocates for Victims of Assault presents self-defense classes for women on Friday, May 2 at the Breckenridge Recreation Center from 6-8 p.m. Participants will learn basic self-defense skills and how to defend against an attacker. Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraiser

On Saturday, May 3 come to Downstairs at Eric’s (overflow bar) for a silent auction to support Tony Madonna’s team, “trek for Tony,” as they prepare for the Summit County Great Strides event. For a $10 donation receive drinks, pizza and a silent auction bid number.

Domuc Pacis Family Respite runs the Colfax Marathon

Come walk, run, volunteer or fundraise on behalf of Domus Pacis Family Respite at the Colfax Marathon, Denver’s Ultimate Urban Tour. Choose between seven different races that range from a 5k to 26.2k full marathon, each taking participants through some of Denver’s most iconic landmarks. Your participation will benefit Domus Pacis Family Respite’s mission of providing families impacted by cancer a week of respite and peace in the serenity of Summit County. Cinco de Mayo with Mi Casa

Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant & Cantina announces the 31st Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration to raise funds for the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center Willie Whalen Memorial Fund. The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 5 with a special buffet featuring Mexican and southwestern culinary creations by executive chef Bruce Carlton. Come early and enjoy the food and drink. A silent auction will be held from 5-8:45 p.m. There will be giveaways throughout the evening along with live music with Drew Reges starting at 8:30 p.m. Admission to this fun-filled evening is $25 for adults and $12 for kids under 12. Boots and Bingo for AVA

Boots and Bingo for Advocates for Victims of Assault takes place on May 3 from 6-10 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Silverthorne. There will be six games of bingo including prizes, food & wine, photo booth, wine & whiskey wall and a cash bar. Advocates for Victims of Assault is a local nonprofit organization which provides services that enhance safety and justice for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and trauma. In addition to providing a 24-hour crisis line, AVA also help with emergency shelter for women, men and children, and provide medical, legal and counseling referrals. Advocates also works with local community organizations to help create a violence-free community through safety, support, education and accountability.
