Concert and silent auction to benefit Summit local

One of the town of Dillon employees, Matt Lope, was critically injured when the car he was riding in was rear-ended by a van traveling at a very high rate of speed recently. Matt has extensive injuries and was placed in a medically-induced coma, from which he emerged earlier this week. Matt manages the Dillon Farmers Market and all the vendors have gotten together to donate items for a silent auction and some local musicians have agreed to play at a concert for Matt’s benefit this Friday, Sept. 12, 3:30-7 p.m. at the Dillon Amphitheatre. Performing: Randall McKinnon, Keith Synnestved, Amy & The Rock Sisters. Silent auction of new quality items donated by vendors at The Dillon Farmers Market, including handmade furniture, large photographic prints, laser-cut metal firepit, jewelry, candles, smoked salmon, beef and much more. Come get a great deal on quality items and help out a fellow Summit County citizen.

Volunteer for Fatty’s tournament

National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) needs some volunteers to help with the Fatty’s Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Breckenridge Golf Course. The NRO is the beneficiary of this event. CASA provides flex learning volunteer training

When a child is abused or neglected, a judge appoints a trained volunteer to listen to the child, report the child’s wishes, and make recommendations to the court. This person is called a Court-Appointed Special Advocate, or a CASA volunteer. CASA of the Continental Divide’s trained volunteers serve children in the 5th Judicial District of Colorado (Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake, and Summit counties) and commit to finding them safe and permanent homes as soon as possible. Help your library foundation earn rewards

Summit Huts needs volunteers

Summit Huts Association is looking for volunteers to help get the cabins ready for winter. Volunteers are needed at Janet’s Cabin Sept. 12, 13 and 14 and at Section House and Ken’s Cabin on Oct. 4. Volunteer days include hard physical labor, including loading and unloading helicopter cargo nets, wood splitting and stacking, maintenance projects and cleaning. Janet’s Cabin volunteers must be prepared to hike or bike to the cabin and are welcome to spend Friday and/or Saturday nights at the cabin, dinner and breakfast will be provided. For each day worked, volunteers earn a free night in the hutmaster’s quarters. Spaces is limited on all volunteer days and you must reserve your space in advance. Golf tournament benefits Summit lacrosse, soccer

Summit Stix & Kicks present the First Annual Summit Classico Golf Tournament, Sept. 21 at Keystone Ranch Golf Course. Cost is $100 per person, 10 a.m. shotgun start with scramble format. Raffle, prizes, appetizers, cash bar and lots of fun for a great cause. All proceeds benefit the Summit High School Lacrosse & Soccer teams. John Fielder photo workshop

Nationally renowned nature photographer John Fielder will host an all-day photography workshop on Sunday, Sept. 14, at his home in Silverthorne. The event will include both lecture and in-the-field personal instruction in nature landscape photography, as well as dinner prepared by Doug Schwartz, chef at the CMC Culinary School. The cost is $300/person, with all proceeds going to Domus Pacis Family Respite. The mission of Domus Pacis is to provide families impacted by cancer a week of respite and peace in Summit County.
