Horsing Around Family Fun Day benefits Far View Horse Rescue
Round up the family for the 4th annual Horsing Around Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Breckenridge Equestrian Center. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy a western barbecue, crafts, decorating horseshoes, games, music, pony/horse rides, carriage rides, silent auction and gymkhana horse games — all to benefit the Far View Horse Rescue. Come hungry for a western barbecue for $8. The Kid’s Fun Pass includes a pony ride, decorating a real horseshoe plus games/activities for only $10. A la carte tickets can be purchased for each activity as well. Great bargains to be had with over 70 silent auction items that will be available to bid on including restaurant gift certificates, spa services, merchandise and more. The annual fundraiser benefits the Far View Horse Rescue, a nonprofit organization located in Fairplay and Breckenridge. Dialogue Over Dinner rescheduled for May 27 breakfast
FIRC’s Dialogue Over Dinner for May 13 has been rescheduled to the morning of May 27. Dialogue Over Breakfast will be Wednesday, May 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Media Center in the Summit Middle School. We will be discussing social media, cyberbullying and cyber safety. Volunteers needed at bike rodeo
Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District welcomes volunteers to participate in its annual bike rodeos on Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29, at Upper Blue Elementary and Breckenridge Elementary schools. Invitation to Singers
The Summit Choral Society, under the direction of Dr. Jill Schroeder-Dorn, invites any interested singers to join the summer session. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, June 1 and are held each Monday, from 7-9 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 16072 Highway 9, across from the high school. Rehearsals begin with vocal exercises followed by choral singing. The group will be working on lighter music for the summer, primarily Broadway show tunes and would like to especially invite high school students to join. Cajun Crawfish Boil benefits NRO
The Climax Molybdenum Company will present the second annual Cajun Crawfish Boil to benefit the National Repertory Orchestra on Friday, June 5. The ultimate Bayou experience will kick off at 6 p.m. at the Mountain HOPE Foundation Barn in Breckenridge. P.E.O. Chapter IB Scholarship applications available
The Dillon Chapter of P.E.O. is offering an academic scholarship to a woman who is in her junior or senior year of college, pursuing a post-graduate degree or enrolled in her final year of a vocational/technical program. Applicant must be a Summit County resident and/or a graduate of Summit School District. Criteria for this scholarship include a demonstration of academic achievement, financial need, commitment to goals and community involvement.
