Team Sandstorm wins Frisco’s Fourth Annual Sandcastle Competition

The Frisco Bay Marina heated up with competition during the fourth annual Sandcastle Competition on Saturday, Aug. 9. More than 50 children competed on 28 teams.

Copper Mountain avalanche rescue dog Recco made an appearance as a celebrity judge for the event. Recco brought some fellow Copper Mountain avalanche rescue dogs, including Mason, a golden retriever puppy in training.

Sandcastles came in all shapes and sizes, with additions including moats, minions, princesses, flags and even a sand “snowman” with sunglasses and a carrot nose.

Team Sandstorm won first place overall with its sandcastle.
