The Breckenridge Grand Vacations float for 2013 celebrated Ullr Fest's 50-year anniversary. The float won first place. This year's Ullr Fest parade takes over Main Street in Breckenridge on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 4:30 p.m., right after the town tries to break the world shot-ski record at 4. The Woman in Black

Breckenridge, Jan. 9 & 10

7:30 p.m., Backstage Theatre, 121 South Ridge St., Breckenridge. In a deserted theatre – closed for renovation – an old man hires a young actor to exorcise the ghosts of his past – specifically, the events concerning a journey to a deserted manor called Eel Marsh House. Unanimously acclaimed, ‘The Woman in Black’ gives audiences an evening of unremitting suspense as they are transported into a terrifying and ghostly world.

Tai Chi

7 p.m., Summit County Community & Senior Citizens Center, 83 Nancy’s Place, Frisco. Come to Summit County Community & Senior Center, 0083 Nancy’s Place in Frisco for a free presentation of the movements & physiology of tai chi that relate to long term health. Rising Appalachia

Breckenridge, Jan. 9

9 p.m., Three 20 South, 320 S. Main Street, Breckenridge. With an array of incredible collaborators, Rising Appalachia are joined by everything from jazz trumpet to beat boxing, Afro-cuban percussion to Appalachian fiddlers, poets to burlesque and circus art as their style redefines performance using sound as a tool to spark a cultural revolution and birth a new movement of unity and healing.

Brian Hornbuckle Band

9:30 p.m., Snake River Saloon, 23074 Hwy 6, Dillon. Live on stage at 9:30 p.m., The Brian Hornbuckle Band is an excellent blues/rock band famous in the Rocky Mtn, region, Drink specials at 9 p.m., $2 Bud, $3 well/wine, ladies no cover.

Ullr Fest

Breckenridge, Jan. 9

4:30-7 p.m., Main Street and E. Adams, Breckenridge. Ullr Fest parade and town bonfire (Parade starts at 4:30 p.m., Bonfire is 5-7 p.m., and Fireworks at 7 p.m.). Before the parade take part in the Guinness book of world records attempt for the longest “shot ski”. Over 150 shots provided by the Breckenridge Distillery. Show up to their tasting room at 3:30 p.m. to participate. (must be 21 or older)
