The town of Breckenridge is among 151 employers nationwide — and only three in Colorado — to be named one of the “Healthiest Companies in America” by Interactive Health in an annual effort to recognize companies that improve the health of their workers.

Through year-round personalized digital tools, coaching, wellness challenges and information about their health, Interactive Health tries to tap into ways to help companies and other employers improve the health of their workers, according to a company-issued news release.

To be recognized as one of the Healthiest Companies in America, Breckenridge had to meet or exceeded a 70% participation rate in a workplace wellness program and have the town’s workforce score low on health risks, based on the results of an annual health evaluation.

“In an era of record-low unemployment, employers must figure out a way to differentiate themselves and show that they care,” said Interactive Health CEO Bill Goldberg in a statement. “Investing in the health of your employees not only achieves that; but has far-reaching implications across the organization. A healthier workforce is one that is happier, more engaged and more productive.”
