Lord of the Mountains names new pastor

Lord of the Mountains Lutheran Church has chosen a new pastor at a congregational meeting held this past Sunday. Reverend Joe Holub will relocate with his wife, Marcia, in August from Fort Collins where he has been serving as pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

He is a graduate of Rockford College followed by Luther Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1976. He has served congregations in Illinois, Kansas, Alaska and Colorado.

“I am thrilled to join the Lord of the Mountains community and to lead its progressive ministries” said Pastor Holub. He brings with him more than 32 years of ministry and an active involvement in numerous community activities. These have included serving on the governing boards of a children’s home and a non-denominational youth ministry. He also co-chaired a Habitat for Humanity project which built homes in Anchorage, Alaska. He serves on the Rocky Mountain Synod Campus Ministry Committee.

Pastor Holub’s first service will be Aug. 24. His sermons and blog can be read at http://www.spiritualtrails.net.
