Luxury’s greatest hits for the 4th

BONNIE SMITH-ALLEN
special to the daily

Today I’m focusing on the array of options that are available in Summit County to make those mountain dreams of yours come true. It’s a terrific time to invest in a mountain property with stable prices and even a few opportunities that won’t last long. Just in the last two weeks, as we begin our true “selling season” here, there have been multiple offers on some homes, indicating that, if you are considering an investment, NOW is the time.

In Keystone, the two bedroom, two bath condominium in Cinnamon Ridge is ready to go. Offered at $333,000, it is fully furnished, with great views directly across a sunny meadow to the Keystone ski lifts. With the free resort bus just steps away, and a four season resort outside the door, this is a great chance to enjoy a mountain home at a reasonable price. For more details, visit http://www.KeystoneRetreats.com.

On the other end of the spectrum, the spectacular residence at 1996 Rodeo Drive is offered at $4,995,000 and features a 13,000+ sq ft home on a spectacular 40 acre parcel which includes meadows, aspen groves, evergreens, and spectacular mountain views. The home features four bedroom suites, a family room, media room and two offices. Granite patios with radiant heat surround the home, with space for the outdoor spa, barbeques, gatherings and wildlife viewing. Deer and elk roam the property. There is an attached apartment and a pool area which is bounded by windows soaking up the south western sun with sliding doors which open out to the patio. An oversized three car garage with work room and mud area is attached, and a detached two car garage is an additional amenity. Natural slate and stone, marble-faced fireplaces and vaulted ceilings are among the myriad of careful detail. The setting is breathtaking in every season, with a mountain backdrop at eye level. Next, in the land category, the new neighborhood at Western Sky Ranch has one special 4.98 acre lot offered at $499,000 (price reduced from $899,000). This beautiful area offers lots up to 23 acres and prices up to $4 million. Just two miles northeast of Main Street, this incredible area on Gibson Hill offers fabulous views of the ski area and the Ten Mile Range. The area has been carefully planned to ensure privacy and protection from the neighbors, with set disturbance envelopes to make certain that future homes will enjoy the views as well as the remote feel of the surroundings.

It’s the perfect spot to enjoy the changing seasonality of our Summit County beauty.

If you wish for an alternative outside of the bustle of the downtown core, consider the four bedroom three bath home in Beaver Ridge, Fairplay. Set on a rolling 2.88 acre parcel, this lovely residence is offered at $449,000 and looks all the way down valley to spectacular mountain views. Whether you sit watching the sunset on the west-facing deck or soak up the sun on the large flagstone southern patio, this is a home for all seasons. Additionally, the home has convenient highway access and is just 25 minutes away from world class skiing, gold medal fishing and golf.

Whether your investment budget is modest or substantial, it’s a great time to buy and there is no better investment to enjoy than your own piece of paradise in the Rocky Mountains.
