‘Macho’ police raid dismaying

I am completely dismayed at the report of yet another macho police raid gone astray. I refer to the SWAT-type activity led by the Frisco Police Department on a tranquil home in Silverthorne this Tuesday. Remember that this was about a vehicle stolen with the keys left inside, no violence had been perpetrated on anyone. Long guns and short guns were drawn, pointed at two peaceful adults and their 14-year-old son. All three were commanded to lay spread eagle either outside on their deck or in the living area while men with drawn guns ran through their house in the dark of night. The family was and remains upset and bewildered by these badge-wearing terrorists. What happened to the concept of “innocent until proven guilty” and the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution? That Amendment reads in part, “The right of the people to be secure in their houses … against unreasonable searches … shall not be violated.” Was this fully armed raid “reasonable?” I know that the family certainly feels “violated.” I urge you to express your feelings directly to your public officials.
