A man died Tuesday while skiing at Breckenridge Ski Resort, authorities and a ski area spokeswoman said.
The ski area said the 26-year-old, from Colorado, was taken to the St. Anthony Breckenridge Community Clinic Emergency Center after a “ski incident on an intermediate trail.”
The resort’s ski patrol immediately responded to the incident about 11:15 a.m. and “provided advanced life support” before the man was pronounced dead at the clinic.
“Breckenridge Ski Resort, Breckenridge Patrol and the Vail Resorts family extend their deepest sympathy and support to the family and friends of the man,” the ski area said in a statement.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said the county coroner will investigate.
Coroner Regan Wood declined to immediately release further information on the death, saying the man’s family was notified of his death about 3 p.m. and were still processing the loss.
