Man reports mugging in Breck

BRECKENRIDGE – Scott Holden, 28, of the French Creek neighborhood reported to police he was mugged Thursday night on a trail off Wellington Road, losing a backpack and about $300 in cash.

Holden said he was walking at about 9 p.m. toward his home on Reiling Road, using a trail that runs down to the neighborhood from Wellington Road.

He said he was attacked by three men whom he thought were speaking Spanish. He offered police no other descriptions. Police were dispatched at 11 p.m. and found no evidence to go on.

Holden said he heard a noise and believed it was somebody with a dog when he was suddenly hit from behind, kicked in the face several times and banged on the head with a rock.

Holden told the Summit Daily News he suffered a gash in his head and a swollen right eye.

“I’m not feeling too well today. I had to take the day off work,” Holden said Friday.

The stolen backpack was a small, blue REI model, he said.

Anyone with information should call Summit County Crime Stoppers at 1 (866) 453-STOP. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for anonymous information that helps solve crimes.
