FORT COLLINS ” A man convicted of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint yelled at the judge who sentenced him to 31 years, telling him that he would see him in hell.

Travis John Kness had earlier told the Larimer County District judge that he was “speechless” when asked whether he wanted to speak before being sentenced Friday. Kness had pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping, felony menacing, and possession of a weapon.

Police say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend in July 2008 and drove her to the West Coast before returning to Colorado.

Kness began cursing after his sentence when deputies led him away from the courtroom. He told the judge, “You ain’t seen the last of me” and “Maybe I’ll see you in hell.”
