Man seriously injured in snowboard mishap

BRECKENRIDGE – A Summit County snowboarder is in serious condition after he fell in a makeshift terrain park near Gold Camp Condominiums on Peak 8 Wednesday night.

Scott Morris, 20, injured his neck and spine while doing ramp and rail tricks in a homemade terrain park near the condos, according to Summit County Ambulance Service Assistant Director Ed Parry.

Hospital personnel declined to state the severity of his injury.

Parry said ambulance paramedics were summoned to the parking area at the condominiums on Ski Hill Road around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Morris was conscious and lying on the ground. Ambulance personnel took Morris to Summit Medical Center, then to Denver via its Flight For Life critical care ground unit. He is listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit there.
