Man shot in Colorado Springs dies

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police say a man who was found with multiple gunshot wounds near Helen Hunt Falls has died, and a suspect in the shooting has been arrested.

The Gazette reports the man, whose name has not been released, was found wounded at the falls just after 8:30 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. A second person has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, but police did not release the suspect’s name or any other details of the arrest.

Police Sgt. Bradley Pratt says El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene because detectives were unsure which department had jurisdiction in the Helen Hunt Falls area.

Police took over the investigation Saturday morning.
