Many afterschool sports a go at Summit High, despite today’s cancelled classes

Many of the Summit High School afterschool sports are still meeting in light of classes being canceled due to Monday’s wildfire near the school.

The cross-country team will be traveling to Georgetown, gymnastic is canceled, soccer is not traveling, but may have practice, varsity volleyball will be practicing at Summit Cove Elementary at 4 p.m., football practice will be held at Summit Middle School and cheerleading will practice.

Coaches will be calling students with all additional information.

A decision is expected by Superintendent Millie Hamner this afternoon as to whether classes will be held on Wednesday. If school resumes, it will be a green day.
