Marina customer throws support behind Baltiches

I have recently been made aware of the town of Frisco’s plans to terminate Osprey Adventures’ contract at the Frisco Bay Marina.

I am a customer of Osprey owners Bernie and Elizabeth Baltich and consider myself a friend of theirs and, therefore, a friend of Frisco’s.

I am not a town resident. However, I am not the typical second or third homeowner and certainly not a tourist, in and out for a weekend.

I live just over the hill in Clear Creek County, closer than some of the communities in Summit are located to Frisco. It strikes me as more than a little odd that a Frisco family, who have proven their mettle in recent economic and environmentally unfriendly times, would be the object of penny pinching or any other agenda aimed at locals.

Bernie and his staff are hardworking locals always fighting the good fight to stay in business and indeed providing an excellent service while doing so. I’ve got to believe that Frisco’s “powers that be” are not beyond this economic classification or weren’t at some point in their lives.

Even if they’re pockets are bottomless, I can’t help but hope that their ideals are still grounded. I know that Summit County would like to think it is above the economic woes that prevail in other parts of the country and indeed Colorado.

This may not always be so. I’d rather give my hard-earned money to folks who deserve the same, not an out-of-state based concessionaire that doesn’t have its livelihood directly tied to the community.

Fifteen years of commitment far outweigh the whims of local politicians who come and go. Please consider the long term benefits and previous dedication of Osprey when you meet behind those “political” doors.
