Mathews: What has government done for me lately?

Oh my my! Mr. Wilson seems very upset about the prospect of raising the sales tax in Breckenridge by a whopping .24% to benefit all those takers who need financial assistance for childcare. Bottom feeders I tell ya! Good thing the rest of us don’t benefit from any handouts. Yeah, like when we buy fuel for our cars and trucks, food for the dinner table, police officers, fire fighters, road maintenance, electricity, Wall Street, banks, defense, penitentiaries, local government, the airlines, trucking, trains, highways, street lights, stop signs, healthcare, agriculture, commerce, education, energy, health and human services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, interior, justice, labor, state, transportation, Treasury, Veterans Affairs, EPA, Small Business Administration and about 58,000 other subsidies that have no space to be printed on this rant.

Scott C. Mathews, Breckenridge
