DILLON ” Local photographer Matt Lit is opening his studio into a gallery space after some renovations to the building (located at 124 Main St.) changed the structure of his studio there. Recently a door that connected him to The Framery was removed and Elevation Fitness moved into the bigger spot that resulted.

“With the new space created, I realized it would be a great gallery,” Lit said.

He’s put an open call out to artists of the Summit Council Arts Council, of which he is a member, for pieces to show. Lit said he hopes to bring art and people to downtown Dillon.

One hallway will remain solely Lit’s photography, but the rest will contain a variety of mediums. He said he could see 10 to 20 pieces there with some small ceramics.

Lit also hopes to rent out or facilitate workshops in the studio, utilizing his photography equipment and square footage.
