I am so proud and excited to bring recognition to Megan Alexander, one of the after school counselors for Summit Day Camps, as the Asset Builder of the Month for May. Megan works at Silverthorne Elementary School and has outstanding experience with children, holds a degree in science, and is a certified teacher. Her love for science and sports has been evident through the activities she plans.Megan shares her passion for science with kids by providing hands-on activities for them such as, ice cube relays, bridge building and kitchen sink boat races.

Megan is also an avid Nordic skier and took an opportunity to bring the after school kids to the Frisco Nordic Center. Many of the students had never tried Nordic skiing and were challenged to try something new by utilizing different skills. Megan also plans several other field trips for the after school campers. She has taken the children snowshoeing, swimming, and to visit the Water Treatment Plant.

Silverthorne Elementary School faculty and parents of Summit Day Camp children, have both shared with me their appreciation and satisfaction of the professional and exceptional work Megan does every day.
