McInnis ignores animal abuse

U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis supports stopping animal terrorists. We agree criminal acts should be punished, but if he and others looked into why groups feel they have to take such action themselves, and took corrective measures, there would be fewer animal and eco-terrorists to worry about.

Today, there is a total lack of enforcement of animal protection. Daily, animals suffer beatings, needless pain and deaths.

Primates suffer as there is no law governing what experiments can be done. Painful procedures shown to have no benefits to mankind can be continuously repeated by others purely to get medical grants.

The meat industry recently prevented the downed animal act that would stop needless injured farm animal suffering from being passed.

While a Federal Animal Welfare Act was made to protect animals, industry concerns giving representatives financial support have almost complete say in how these regulations are written and enforced.

To ignore these problems instills the feeling that our government laws and enforcement are there just to protect big business industries, and damn with any form of animal welfare and the environment as the real world has no place or patience for concerned individuals who have no other place to turn, even though animal welfare is rooted in our Jewish-

Christian beliefs.
