Memorial Day closures in county

SUMMIT COUNTY – Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, a holiday set aside to honor the dead of all wars. Many federal, state and local government offices will be closed as part of the observance.

Below is a partial list of Monday closures in and around the county.

– U.S. Postal Service:

Local post offices will not be offering window service.

– Local governments:

Breckenridge town

offices – closed

Dillon town offices – closed

Frisco town offices – closed

Silverthorne town offices

– closed

County offices – closed

County landfill – open; hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

– County and district courts – closed

– Summit County libraries:

The main branch in Frisco will be open Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; all three branches (Frisco, Breckenridge and Silverthorne) will be closed Monday.

n Recreation centers:

Breckenridge – will observe holiday hours and be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. All regular fitness classes have been cancelled, but there will be one combined fitness class from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Silverthorne: open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.; the pool will close at 8:30 p.m.

– Banks:

Most, if not all, banks will be closed Monday.
