Memorial Day observed at Dillon Cemetery

DILLON The Town of Dillon will observe Memorial Day with a public ceremony at the Dillon Cemetery beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday.Dillon Mayor Barbara Davis will lead the ceremony to honor our nation’s fallen heroes, including touching memories and tales from local and visiting leaders, veterans and guests. The service includes the Boy Scout Troop 188 Color Guard presenting flags and leading the Pledge of Allegiance, musical performances by the Summit Concert Band and a bagpipe tribute.In addition to Davis, featured speakers include State Rep. Gary Lindstrom, Dillon Cemetery advisory member Penington R. Wimbush and Tara Johnson, Exalter Ruler of Summit County Elks.Special thanks go to Neils Lunceford, of Silverthorne, for providing Memorial Day poppies.For more information, call (970) 262-34034.
