Memorial for Kent Donahue set for Tuesday

SILVERTHORNE ” The memorial for Kent Donahue, chief of police for the town of Silverthorne, is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Dillon Amphitheatre.

There will also be a procession of police, fire and EMS vehicles starting at La Quinta, continuing past town hall and on through Silverthorne on Highway 9 to the amphitheatre.

In case of rain, the memorial will be held at the Silverthorne Pavilion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following organizations “In Memory of Kent Donahue”:

Donahue died in Denver Sunday after returning from a trip to California. Donahue, a veteran law enforcement officer and devoted family man, died of an apparent heart attack, according to town manager Kevin Batchelder.

He was 49.

Donahue is survived by his wife, Jaime, of Silverthorne; his son, Jim, a sergeant with the Frisco Police Department; Jim’s wife, Cindy; his son, Kellon, of Silverthorne; his daughter, Katie, of Greeley, and parents, Ralph and Carol Donahue, of Lakewood.
