Memorial Saturday for Jake Worrell

Jake Worrell, 79, formerly of Breckenridge, most recently residing in Buena Vista, passed away May 9.

He is survived by his wife Joan; sons Mike, Jeff, Chris, Dave and Eric; daughter Terry; brother Bob; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Worrell married Joan in 1949, and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1951. He worked for North American Aviation in California until moving to Denver in 1956. After retiring from Martin Marietta Aerospace in 1981 he was proprietor of the Blue Spruce Inn and Andrea’s Restaurant in Frisco and Breckenridge, respectively. He loved the mountains, his family and his dogs.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the Hospice of Saint John, 1320 Everett Court, Lakewood, CO 80215.
