Memorial service Feb. 11 for Jack Brandt


Longtime Summit Country resident John August (Jack) Brandt died Jan. 23, 2006. Born son of John and Virginia Brandt, Jack was born May 1, 1948, in Two Rivers, Wis. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and married his wife, Barbara, in 1968. They moved to Summit County in 1974. Brandt enjoyed running in the woods, tinkering with cars and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and friend who will be missed by many. Brandt is survived by his mother Virginia; wife Barbara; his two sons Noel and Paul; and his daughter-in-law Heather. He will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 11 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Dillon Valley.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in memory of Brandt for his son, Paul, at or by calling (800) 622-9010.
