Memorial service scheduled for Robert "Bob" White

Robert “Bob” J. White, 80, of Frisco, died Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver. He was born Jan. 7, 1927 at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. After completing his schooling, White went to work in Illinois. On Sept. 27, 1947 he married Ellen F. Tupper in Kankakee, Ill. They moved to Denver in 1949, where White worked for P.S.CO. Electrical Underground Company. During the 1950s, the Whites built their home in Bill’s Ranch, and when White retired in June of 1983, they moved to Summit County full time. A street in Bill’s Ranch is named after him: Bob White Way.The Elks was a large part of White’s life. He joined the Lakewood Elks Lodge in 1969, and later became a very active member of the Silverthorne Elks Lodge #2561. His various positions in the Lodge included Exalted Ruler, 2001-2002; district deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler in 2006; lodge secretary for 17 years; Elk of the Year in 1993; state treasurer of the Colorado Elks Association, 1998-2002; and was currently serving as lodge trustee. White loved sharing outdoor activities with his wife, especially jeeping and skiing. He also served on the Ten Mile Planning Commission for many years.White is survived by his beloved wife Ellen of Frisco and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 17 at the Summit County Elks Lodge #2561 in Silverthorne.
