Miers named Asset Builder of the Month

Simone Belz with Summit Day Camps nominated Jennifer Miers as Asset Builder of the Month. Following is her letter of nomination:

To Whom It May Concern:

Please consider Jennifer Miers as a candidate for the Asset Builder of the Month.

Jenny is extremely dedicated and passionate about her work with children. She has been working in the educational field for the last five years, ranging in job from outdoor education to social work and recreation. Jenny holds a degree in social work and currently works for Summit Day Camps. As a camp counselor for the before-school and after-school program at Dillon Valley Elementary, she develops and facilitates programming for kindergartners through fifth grade. The activities Jenny provides, such as science, art and drama, help cultivate creativity and enthusiasm and, most importantly, promotes hands-on exploration.

In addition to working for Summit Day Camps, Jenny also works at Summit Cove Elementary as a paraprofessional. This position gives her an opportunity to work one on one with a special-needs student. She not only assists in day-to-day classroom activities but also provides support and companionship for the student. With a huge smile on her face, Jenny always speaks positively of her work at Summit Cove, and I believe this demonstrates courage, leadership and caring. Jenny utilizes her educational and people skills to build a positive relationship with all children, which in turn, offers a platform for them to empower themselves. These assets should not only be created in children, but are characteristics which we as adults should continue to develop!

Jenny’s involvement in Summit Day Camps and at Summit Cove Elementary makes her an outstanding candidate for Asset Builder of the Month. Please help me recognize Jennifer Miers as the recipient of the next Asset Builder of the Month award.
