‘Miles For Morgan’ will have community dining and walking for a cause

The Breckenridge community is coming out to support a longtime local family dealing with a serious illness to one of their children – Upper Blue Elementary first-grader Morgan Wilkinson, suffering from debilitating kidney disease. The Wilkinson are longtime Summit County locals, but Morgan’s illness has incurred many expenses not covered by insurance. Event organizers are hoping the community comes together in support of this family in need, and help pave the way to Morgan’s recovery.

The “Miles For Morgan” spaghetti dinner and community walk will be Thursday, May 17, at the Breckenridge Fire Station (downtown). The dinner is from 5 – 7:30 p.m., and the walk begins at the fire station at 5:15 p.m.Ticket prices are $5 for kids, $10 for adults, and $25 per family.

Since September 2006, Morgan has been in and out of the hospital due to an illness that has affected his kidneys and overall health. His illness has been life-changing for the entire family, as his recovery depends on frequent trips to Denver for dialysis and other treatments. Morgan is expected to continue this process until he is strong enough to accept a kidney transplant.Make a difference by showing up for Morgan!
