Mill levy helps the whole community

Renate and Herb Helm, Summit Cove

As retired homeowners here in Summit County, we might not seem to have much to gain by voting on Nov. 2 for the proposed mill levy for the school district. However, we believe that we and all the residents of Summit County do stand to benefit. We have retired here because the communities of Summit County are economically healthy and diverse. When all the tourists have gone in the shoulder seasons, our towns are still bustling with events in conjunction with local organizations. Families are vital, stable resources in our work force, and the quality of education is an important component for many deciding where to reside. So let’s all view this issue in how it affects our community as a whole, not just individual pockets, and vote “Yes” for measures 3A and 3B for the good of our children and future.
