Monica Jones: South Park commissioner clarification

Monica Jones

I would like to clear up some misleading information in a recent letter to the editor from Amanda Woodbury.

Ms. Woodbury implied that I was one of the Republican candidates running for a primary when in all actuality I am unaffiliated candidate petitioning on to the general election ballot for Park County Commissioner, District 3. I can begin gathering signatures on April 30. The signatures I receive are not associated with the other candidates who are petitioning for the primary election. The rule she stated that you can only sign one petition is not accurate in my case.

I will be hosting events in the next few weeks in order to meet people and listen to your concerns and solutions for our county. I will be at the Knotty Pine in Bailey on Sunday, May 2, from 11 to 4, the Fairplay Fairbarn on Monday, May 3, from 5 to 7 and at Badger Basin in Hartsel, May 4, from 7 to 7.

I look forward to getting to know more about the people of Park County and hope to gain your support in the upcoming election.
