Morgan, Schroth win BGC gross events

The Men’s and Women’s Clubs of the Breckenridge Golf Club continued their summer competition with an individual stroke play low gross and low net event this week. Players competed in both divisions.

In the Women’s Club net competition there was a three-way tie for first with Amy Guras, Maureen Richey and Kathy Warner each shooting net 68s. Karen Horsch placed fourth with a round of 69.

In the gross event, Krista Morgan led the field with an 81. She was followed closely by Amy Guras at 83. Three players tied for third: Linda Mirro, Deb Bangham and Darby Hartman all shot 89.

The Men’s Club net competition also had a tie for first, with Tom Bauder and Michael Houx scoring net 68s. Steve Rockne and Keith Feldmann tied for third with 69s.

The gross event was won by Gene Schroth with a 75. He was followed by Pete Hanigan at 77. Kirk Dice took third with a round of 78, Bill McLaughlin finished fourth by carding an 80.

In upcoming events the BGC will be hosting a mixed team event on the afternoon of Sunday, June 26. On Monday, June 27, the second Community Business League Scramble will be held starting at 4:30 p.m. The Business League is open to any Summit County business and is a biweekly friendly competition.
