Mountain lion captured in Boulder

BOULDER – Wildlife officers captured a mountain lion Wednesday in a residential neighborhood where foxes and deer have been found killed in recent weeks.The 50-pound female cat, believed to be 10 months old, walked into a trap baited with deer roadkill at about 4 a.m., officials said.The cat was captured in the Devil’s Thumb neighborhood near open space.”Everybody was starting to get really concerned because this is a community with a lot of young children” and pets, said Jane Printz, who lives in the area.The Division of Wildlife planned to release the mountain lion somewhere west of the Continental Divide.
