Mountain Mentors provides adult mentorship for kids in need of heroes

I think it is important for Summit County youth to have heroes. Many parents in this county work a lot, so their kids have no one around, resulting in children not having anybody to look up to.

Later in their lives, this missing attribute causes deeper problems and sometimes leads to alternative behaviors. It is vital to children’s upbringing that they have an adult figure that they can go to when they have a problem or questions.

One great resource in our county is the Mountain Mentors program, and I have seen firsthand the affects on a kid these people have. If a parent is afraid that he or she is not around enough for their kid, I sincerely recommend this great service. Parents can reach Mountain Mentors at (970) 668-4150.

If you as a parent can’t be the hero to your kid, let someone else be.
