MRHI announces hands-on avalanche education opportunity

Register now for “One Little Avalanche Can Ruin Your Whole Day,” an Avalanche Awareness Workshop sponsored by the Mosquito Range Heritage Initiative (MRHI) as part of the local nonprofit’s Outdoor Adventure Series. The event is slated for Saturday at the Alma Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Will Barrett, Avalanche Forecaster, Breckenridge Ski Patrol, will teach a basic companion rescue and beacon “hands-on” clinic with a two-hour inside lecture and lunch, followed by a two-hour outside workshop. $25 includes workshop and lunch sponsored by Patti’s Pizza. Proceeds benefit MRHI conservation and recreation efforts along the Continental Divide (www.mrhi.org). Participation is limited to the first 50 people registered.
