Friday, Feb. 12
The Snake River Saloon in Keystone hosts two nights of Funkiphino on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13. One of Colorado’s premiere dance bands, Funkiphino is the 12-piece funk sensation that’s been funking it up all over the state for more than a decade. Pronounced “Funk-If-I-Know,” the band is the most requested group in the region. Each member is hand-picked for musicianship and professionalism. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the music starts at 9:30. Second night with The Werks
The Barkley Ballroom hosts a second night with The Werks on Friday, Feb. 12. The Werks are quickly emerging as a national-jam-band powerhouse. As a result of their eclectic individual influences, The Werks produce a dance party that can be appreciated by a majority of musical tastes. Fusing the psychedelic shredding guitar and screaming organ of jam and classic rock with funk slap bass, synthesizers, and modern dance beats, The Werks create their own style of music entitled “psychedelic dance rock.” Big Something will open the show. The Goat hosts Super Magick
Super Magick will play the Goat Tavern on Friday, Feb. 12. Based out of Denver, Colorado, Super Magick (formerly Filthy Children) first hit the stage together in Nov, 2003. Since then, they have been laying it down all over the land, headlining gigs at nearly all of Colorado’s most respected venues and festivals. Super Magick members have shared the stage with such funky musical luminaries as Galactic, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Rebirth Brass Band, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, J.J. Three days with Summit musician
Local Carey Robinson will play 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Napper Tandy’s in Breckenridge on Friday, Feb. 12. Then he will play Saturday night at The Lucha Cantina in Georgetown from 6–9 p.m., before playing Sunday morning at the Red Buffalo Coffee House in Silverthorne, next to the Silverthorne Pavilion, from 8–11 a.m. Robinson was a vocal music major at Western State College in Gunnison, studying opera when he first heard bluegrass and western swing — he became hooked. He landed in Summit in ’83 and has been performing in bars and restaurants around the county.

Barkley’s brings the funk
Frisco Funk Collective will play The Barkley Ballroom in Frisco on Saturday, Feb. 13. Frisco Funk Collective is a collection of the best musicians from Summit County bringing you music reminiscent of Lettuce and The Funky Meters. Old Shoe plays in Keystone
The Goat Tavern hosts Old Shoe on Saturday, Feb. 13. Old Shoe is a five-piece Americana Roots Rock band based out of Chicago, Illinois. Made up of talented songwriters from across the country, hailing from as far away as Alaska, the band’s compositions paint a diverse landscape of American life. Show starts at 10 p.m., $5 cover. Music five days a week at Blue River Bistro
Start the week at Blue River Bistro on Sunday, Feb. 14, with free live music from guitarist and vocalist Rob Wivchar. Around the Denver area, his varied set list and high-quality musicianship find him performing in a wide variety of locales and private events. Mark Schlaefer brings his delta blues to the Blue River Bistro on Monday, Feb. 15, and Wednesday, Feb. 17. The Blue River Bistro in Breckenridge welcomes the Jerry Weiss Duo on Tuesday, Feb. 16, and the Jerry Weiss Trio on Thursday, Feb. 18. The music runs from 5-10 p.m., and there’s no cover. Two nights with Roosevelt Collier and Bill Nershi
The Barkley Ballroom hosts Roosevelt Collier’s Colorado Get Down featuring Bill Nershi on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and Thursday, Feb. 18. Soft-spoken by nature, south Florida-bred Roosevelt Collier does his hollering on the steel guitar. Seated front and center, the “sacred steel” frontman with the Lee Boys leaves an indelible mark on listeners, flooring audiences with his lightning-fast slide work. From the saloons of Telluride to the some of the most sought after venues in America, Bill Nershi has delighted countless fans as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the String Cheese Incident, Honkytonk Homeslice and The Emmitt-Nershi Band.
