The Snake River Saloon in Keystone hosts two nights of Funkiphino on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13. One of Colorado’s premiere dance bands, Funkiphino is the 12-piece funk sensation that’s been funking it up all over the state for more than a decade. Pronounced “Funk-If-I-Know,” the band is the most requested group in the region. Each member is hand-picked for musicianship and professionalism. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the music starts at 9:30. Second night with The Werks

The Barkley Ballroom hosts a second night with The Werks on Friday, Feb. 12. The Werks are quickly emerging as a national-jam-band powerhouse. As a result of their eclectic individual influences, The Werks produce a dance party that can be appreciated by a majority of musical tastes. Fusing the psychedelic shredding guitar and screaming organ of jam and classic rock with funk slap bass, synthesizers, and modern dance beats, The Werks create their own style of music entitled “psychedelic dance rock.” Big Something will open the show. The Goat hosts Super Magick

Super Magick will play the Goat Tavern on Friday, Feb. 12. Based out of Denver, Colorado, Super Magick (formerly Filthy Children) first hit the stage together in Nov, 2003. Since then, they have been laying it down all over the land, headlining gigs at nearly all of Colorado’s most respected venues and festivals. Super Magick members have shared the stage with such funky musical luminaries as Galactic, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Rebirth Brass Band, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, J.J. Three days with Summit musician

Local Carey Robinson will play 5:30–8:30 p.m. at Napper Tandy’s in Breckenridge on Friday, Feb. 12. Then he will play Saturday night at The Lucha Cantina in Georgetown from 6–9 p.m., before playing Sunday morning at the Red Buffalo Coffee House in Silverthorne, next to the Silverthorne Pavilion, from 8–11 a.m. Robinson was a vocal music major at Western State College in Gunnison, studying opera when he first heard bluegrass and western swing — he became hooked. He landed in Summit in ’83 and has been performing in bars and restaurants around the county.

Barkley’s brings the funk

Frisco Funk Collective will play The Barkley Ballroom in Frisco on Saturday, Feb. 13. Frisco Funk Collective is a collection of the best musicians from Summit County bringing you music reminiscent of Lettuce and The Funky Meters. Soft-spoken by nature, south Florida-bred Roosevelt Collier does his hollering on the steel guitar. Seated front and center, the “sacred steel” frontman with the Lee Boys leaves an indelible mark on listeners, flooring audiences with his lightning-fast slide work.
