Nada Roder: Can’t beat plastic bags for dog poop

Nada Roder, DNR Kennels

It’s kind of funny if you think about it: I went to the store and bought groceries. (I don’t carry the eco-friendly bags, I get plastic). As I was leaving some eco-friendly green person made a comment about maybe I should use the eco-friendly bags instead of using the plastic bags and ruining the environment.

I answered very politely that I use my plastic bags to pick up my dog poop when I take my dogs off my property … maybe you should do that with your eco-bags while you are out with your dog on a hike, or skiing. I think I pissed that eco-friendly green person off.

But, I see it every day as people go up and down the Gold Hill Trail Head, the road and down at the parking area of Gold Hill, even walking their dogs in town. So carry a few plastic bags if that isn’t too high tech for you.
