National Trails Day on Saturday

Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, Friends of Eagles Nest Wilderness, and the Summit Fat Tire Society invite you to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kick-off the summer season with our first 2010 Trail Project on the Horseshoe Gulch Trail.

Meet at the Dredge Boat Trailhead, on Tiger Road, at 9 for bagels and coffee, volunteers must pack a sack lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided at the end of the workday “trailgate” party.

Volunteers will help restore and rehabilitate the Horseshoe Gulch Trail with erosion control and closure efforts along the trail. Volunteers should dress for a day outdoors – bring water, lunch, work gloves, layered clothing including long pants, long-sleeved shirt, sturdy boots, sunglasses, sun hat, sunscreen, rain gear, and insect repellent, and lots of enthusiasm!
