BRECKENRIDGE – District Court judges Terry Ruckriegle and David Lass helped unveil a brand new courtroom Friday morning at the Summit County Justice Center in Breckenridge. The judges cut the ribbon at about 11:30 a.m., welcoming a much needed third courtroom.”We had district judges that had to share two courtrooms, which was not conducive to getting cases through in a timely manner,” court clerk Jan Bowman said. The $1.1 million dollar courtroom includes judges’ chambers, a jury consultation room, a media room and two auxiliary rooms for client/attorney discussions, Bowman said. The Center hopes to have the new courtroom ready for use by early February, but is still waiting for computers and recording devices to be installed. The project began last May.”It went up incredibly quickly and they did a beautiful job with it,” she said.
