The Family & Intercultural Resource Center has announced the soft opening of a new thrift store at the Sol Center in Breckenridge.
Taking place across three weekends, the soft opening will allow community members a chance to visit the new community resale store at 24 Rapid Drive in Breckenridge to shop for affordable, secondhand finds. Proceeds made at the thrift store will directly support Family & Intercultural Resource Center’s programs, which provide assistance to individuals and families across Summit County, including access to fresh food, financial assistance and more.
The soft opening schedule is as follows:
- Thursday, May 28, through Saturday, May 30
- Thursday, June 4, through Saturday, June 6
- Thursday, June 11, through Saturday, June 13
The thrift store will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on those days.
At the Sol Center, Family & Intercultural Resource Center shares the building with nonprofit partner Building Hope Summit County.
To prepare for a full grand opening, Family & Intercultural Resource Center is seeking donations of spring and summer clothing, shoes and accessories to continue stocking shelves. Community members are also encouraged to volunteer their time to help set up the shopping space.
Donation guidelines and accepted items may change as Family & Intercultural Resource Center continues setting up shop, according to a news release which said the community has already shown an “overwhelming amount” of support.
Updates on donation limits and accepted items can be found at SummitFIRC.org/Thrift-Store. Community members interested in volunteering can visit SummitFIRC.org/Volunteer.
