New picnic shelters to be built in Dillon

DILLON – According to Dillon’s town manager Devin Granbery, three new covered picnic shelters will be built adjacent to the Marina Park playground this summer.

Each shelter will have a six-foot-long picnic table and it will be able to accommodate six average adults. Construction materials will be chosen to compliment the new pavilion.

Construction will begin as weather permits, and Granbery said he hopes to have the shelters installed by the Fourth of July weekend. The project will cost approximately $12,000, and the town council approved a contract with Trinity West Construction.
